Lotus Tower in Colombo | ආසියාවේ ඉහලින්ම පිපෙන නෙලුම් මල

The Colombo Lotus Tower which is 350 meter tall proposed to locate in down town of Colombo at a cost of US$ 104.3 million funded by EXIM Bank of People’s Republic of China with the completion to record it as the tallest building in South Asia and the 19th tallest tower in the World.Government of Sri Lanka in the second week of December announced that proposed multi-functional communication tower project will be re-named and be shifted to Colombo capital deviating from its previous plan to erect it in Peliyagoda. The tower will be 26-meter taller than the world’s famous Eiffel Tower and 17.4-meter taller than metro high Tokyo Tower while promoters claim that tower will be visible to India and Bangladesh. Two floors of 11 storied multi-faceted tower will consist of luxury hotel accommodation, revolving restaurant for 600 guests on the fourth floor and a banquet hall for 1000. The project via its telecommunication facilities will eliminate high-powered TV and FM antennas erected atop buildings in and around the city of Colombo as part of the Government’s Colombo beautification plan.
